A Maharaja tempo traveller is a Force Traveller van that has been stripped of its standard bench seating and refitted with wide, individually mounted recliner seats. The result is a vehicle with the road presence of a tempo traveller but the seating comfort of a business-class cabin.

The defining feature is the 1x1 seating layout – one seat on the left of the aisle, one on the right, with no middle passenger and a walkway wide enough to move through without disturbing anyone. You will get roughly 40% more space per person than in a standard tempo traveller of the same external size, as a 17 or 18 seater Force Traveller chassis is rebuilt as a 9 or 12 seater Maharaja.

Larger Maharaja variants from 15 to 20 seats come with a 2x1 layout – two seats on one side, one on the other – which keeps the reclining seats and legroom while accommodating bigger groups.

Yes. The reclining seats with adjustable headrests and individual AC vents make a substantial difference on journeys over 300 km. For multi-day trips such as Chardham Yatra, Manali or Ladakh, we recommend the 9 or 12 seater 1x1 variant, or the modified version with an onboard washroom.

Standard Maharaja travellers do not include a washroom. We operate modified variants with an onboard washroom, refrigerator and meal tray starting at ₹40 per km. These require advance booking as availability is limited.

For local Delhi packages, the quoted price includes fuel and driver allowance. For outstation trips, toll tax, state entry permits and parking are charged at actuals on top of the per-km fare. All of these are itemised in your quote before booking.

Outstation bookings carry a minimum running of 250 km per day. If your itinerary covers less, you are billed for 250 km for that day.
